Volodymyr Zelensky: Russia's attack on a passenger bus leaves five dead and seven injured

Russian airstrikes on a passenger bus near Nikopol, Ukraine, resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to seven others.

Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, announced that following a Russian drone attack on a passenger bus near Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region of the country, five people were killed and seven others were injured. Zelensky shared this news on his Telegram account on Wednesday morning, stating that the condition of the seven injured is being treated.

Details of the attack on rail infrastructure

Zelensky also referred to Russia's attacks on rail infrastructure in several locations across Ukraine. According to him, these attacks included a passenger train in the Mykolaiv region as well. He explained that train number 122, which was traveling from Kyiv to Mykolaiv, came under attack but, with prior warning, passengers and railway staff were safely evacuated and no casualties were recorded.

According to Zelensky, these attacks have damaged railway stations and locomotives in the Mykolaiv region, and an electric locomotive was also attacked in the city of Kovel in the Volyn region. He added that nearly 170 passengers from the affected train have been evacuated.

Reports of other attacks in various regions

The President of Ukraine also reported attacks in other areas such as Kyiv, Kherson, Donetsk, and Poltava. He stated that emergency teams are still working to extinguish the fire in Kyiv that started last night. These attacks reflect the ongoing tensions and clashes between Russian and Ukrainian forces that have continued since the onset of the war in Ukraine in 2022.

Currently, Russia has not responded to Zelensky's claims. These attacks have clearly intensified the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and heightened international concerns regarding the security and humanitarian situation in the country.
