Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, in his speech at the International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg, addressed the issue of Russia's relations with Europe and the military possibilities between the two continents. He stated that if Europe attacks Russia, the war that will occur will be completely different and very short.
Russia's unwillingness to attack
Lavrov emphasized that Russian officials have repeatedly stated that Moscow has no intention or need to attack European countries. He said: "Russia has repeatedly said that we have no intention of attacking Western countries and we have no interest in doing so. However, if Europe, which regularly talks about preparing for war against Russia, attacks the Russian Federation, then the war will be completely different and very short."

Criticism of Western policies
The Russian Foreign Minister also referred to Western policies, especially NATO's expansion towards Russia's borders. He stated that "the West made a choice years ago to limit Russia" and this has led to increased tensions in international relations. Lavrov expressed his criticisms regarding the statements of European leaders who emphasize the necessity of preparing for war with Russia, stating that this has become a main issue among current politicians in Europe in Brussels.
These remarks come as tensions in relations between Russia and Western countries have escalated due to the war in Ukraine and economic sanctions. Lavrov once again emphasized Russia's unwillingness to engage in conflict with Western countries and added that his country is seeking peaceful solutions to resolve disputes.
