Turkish Foreign Minister: Israel is the biggest threat to the stability of Syria

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, announced during his visit to Damascus that Israel is considered the biggest threat to the stability of Syria.

Hakan Fidan, the Turkish Foreign Minister, announced during his recent visit to Damascus that Israel is currently the biggest potential threat to the stability of Syria. In this visit, aimed at strengthening the relations between the two countries, he told reporters that Israel is taking actions that lead to instability in the region.

Turkey and Syria Relations

Fidan met with the President of Syria, Ahmad Shar, during this meeting and stated that this meeting, which lasted about two hours, was an opportunity to discuss various issues between the two countries. He emphasized that positive developments are taking shape in Syria and life in the country is returning to normal.

The Turkish Foreign Minister added: "We have increased our contacts with Syria during this period, and our goal for this visit is to discuss various issues." He also announced the removal of some issues from the list of sanctions and economic barriers, emphasizing that these matters are very important for improving conditions in Syria.

Challenges of Israel and the Region

Fidan stated that Israel has resorted to destabilizing actions due to concerns about the power and stability of neighboring countries. He noted: "Syria wants to live peacefully in the region, but Israel views this approach as a threat. Ultimately, Israel must accept this reality and live in peace with its neighbors."

The Turkish Foreign Minister also referred to the role of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and called for this group to no longer be a threat to Syria. He mentioned that the messages currently being conveyed are positive and expects these messages to be implemented practically as well.

Fidan concluded by stating that cooperation and peaceful diplomacy are essential in response to Israel's destabilizing role in the region and expressed hope that a more stable region will emerge in the future. He also referred to efforts to strengthen the new Mecca alliance among Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, emphasizing that this process is progressing.
