The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this incident as a cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the holy city of Mecca, the birthplace of revelation and the qibla of Muslims. This attack has been viewed as a provocation to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.

Success of Saudi air defense forces
Saudi Arabia appreciated the vigilance of its royal air defense forces, which successfully responded to this attack and destroyed the drone before it entered the restricted airspace of Mecca.
Saudi Arabia also reiterated its call for the international community to condemn these attacks and take a firm stance against the Houthi attacks on sacred sites and civilian and economic infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The country also emphasized the threats related to maritime navigation and international trade.
