The Great Pyramid of Giza, the largest of the three famous pyramids in the area, was built about 4,500 years ago during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu and is known as part of his massive burial complex. However, Sophie Lewy, an independent researcher, has proposed a new theory suggesting that this pyramid may have another meaning and that its builders may have intentionally placed clues within the dimensions of the structure.
The Hidden Meaning of the Pyramid's Dimensions
Lewy states that the numbers derived from the height, base length, and sloping sides of the pyramid closely resemble the cycles of the moon, stars, and planets. She believes that the builders of the pyramid may have transformed their knowledge of the sky into a vast mathematical code and inscribed it within the stones of this structure.

Mathematical and Astronomical Analyses
In a paper published in the SSRN journal, Lewy divided the main measurements of this structure using fractions that ancient Egyptian scribes employed. The results of these calculations have corresponded with significant numbers in mathematics and astronomy. For example, the number 27.5 closely resembles the 27.55-day interval between two consecutive lunar perigee points.
She also mentioned the number 70 and related it to the 70-day period during which the star Sirius is hidden from the view of earthly observers due to the brightness of the sun. According to Lewy, these findings only partially explain the reasons for the construction of the pyramids.
New Theories About the Construction of the Pyramid
Lewy's broader theory is that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built not only to honor Pharaoh Khufu but also as a structure for Benben. Benben holds a significant place in Heliopolitan mythology and is recognized as a primordial mound in narratives concerning the beginning of creation. Additionally, Lewy speculates that the shape of the pyramids may have been inspired by an area where the distant ancestors of the ancient Egyptians lived.
Lewy believes that after this area dried up due to drought, the ancient Egyptians migrated south towards the Nile River and built the pyramids in memory of their ancestral land. However, her research has yet to be evaluated or critiqued by Egyptologists.
