Under these conditions, pilgrims typically have to cover distances of up to 30 miles (equivalent to 48 kilometers), which requires special measures to protect their health and safety.

Greg Stanton stated that the new initiative is designed to reduce temperatures in various locations using advanced technologies. This plan includes the installation of cooling equipment at key points along the routes leading to the holy sites. Additionally, this equipment is designed to have minimal impact on the environment and to utilize renewable energy sources.
Stanton emphasized that the main goal of this initiative is to provide more comfortable conditions for pilgrims so they can perform their rituals without worrying about the heat. He also noted that this action could help increase the number of pilgrims and enhance their satisfaction levels.
