Abdel Fattah Sisi, the President of Egypt, in his speech at the BRICS summit, stressed the need to strengthen economic cooperation among the member countries of this group. He particularly highlighted the importance of new technologies, clean energy, and infrastructure for creating economic stability and called for more attention to these areas.
Technology and Energy, Key Pillars
Sisi further stated that BRICS countries should place greater emphasis on the development of artificial intelligence technologies and renewable energy. In his view, these two areas can act as engines of growth and economic advancement, assisting member countries in achieving sustainable development goals.
The President of Egypt also referred to the role of the New Development Bank and urged it to operate as a stronger financial entity in support of infrastructure and economic projects in developing countries. He stated that this bank should prioritize financing projects that enhance economic resilience.
Trade and International Cooperation
Sisi concluded by emphasizing that to enhance the level of trade and international cooperation, BRICS member countries must work more closely together. In his opinion, only through this can the foundations of the economies and societies of developing countries be strengthened and global challenges addressed.
In this context, Sisi expressed hope that future BRICS summits could pave the way for positive developments and greater cooperation in the economic, technological, and social fields.
