Saudi Arabia has recently celebrated with surprise and pride the launch of a global coalition for South-South and triangular cooperation. This coalition has been introduced as an important step towards improving integration and reducing the duplication of efforts on the international stage. In this regard, countries must respect their national priorities and focus on joint cooperation.
Agreement with Vision 2030
The official spokesperson of Saudi Arabia, the country's permanent ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Aseel, highlighted the importance of this coalition on the International Day for South-South Cooperation, stating that Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 aligns with the priorities of South-South cooperation. These priorities include economic diversification, digital transformation, innovation, sustainability, youth empowerment, and strengthening the private sector.
Dr. Al-Aseel also referred to the key role of the Saudi Development Fund, which has played a significant role in supporting and financing development projects and programs in over 100 developing countries. This fund aims to help create the necessary infrastructure in vital sectors and facilitate sustainable development in these countries.
Determined Commitment to a Sustainable Future
The Saudi ambassador emphasized that the country remains committed to cooperating with member countries, the United Nations, and international partners to strengthen cooperation and achieve sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous development. Given the global challenges and the need for effective cooperation, this coalition can serve as a new initiative to facilitate the development process and reduce poverty in developing countries.
Overall, Saudi Arabia, with this new approach, demonstrates its pursuit of creating a better world and more effective global cooperation. This coalition is not only an opportunity for growth and development but can also serve as a successful model for other countries.
