Hassan Rohani, the President of Iran, in his latest remarks regarding the BRICS group, called for the establishment of a permanent secretariat and broader cooperation among the members of this group. He believes that this action can effectively counter unilateral sanctions and also strengthen political, economic, and technological relations among BRICS member countries.
Political and Economic Cooperation
In this meeting, Rohani, referring to the challenges facing developing countries, addressed the need to create a common platform for dialogue and cooperation in various fields. He emphasized that BRICS countries should come closer together and make the best use of existing capacities. He also pointed to the role of technology and innovation in strengthening these cooperations and stressed the importance of sharing experiences in this regard.
Countering Sanctions
The President of Iran, referring to the unilateral sanctions imposed on some BRICS member countries, called for the establishment of mechanisms for joint action against these pressures. Rohani believes that if BRICS member countries help each other, they will be able to overcome economic challenges and create greater stability at both regional and global levels.
Finally, Hassan Rohani stated that BRICS can serve as a model for multilateral cooperation and urged the members of this group to take swift action towards forming a permanent secretariat and move towards sustainable development by utilizing existing capacities.
