Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the President of Egypt, during a session held under the title BRICS, warned about the negative impacts of recent developments in the Middle East on the global economy. Expressing concern about the current situation in the region, he emphasized the importance of protecting international navigation and stated that instability in this region could severely affect global trade and energy flows.
Negative Impacts on Supply Chains
El-Sisi pointed out that developments in the Middle East, especially political and military crises, could weaken global supply chains, saying: "We must act as quickly as possible to prevent these negative impacts. Insecurity in this region harms not only Egypt but the entire world."
He also referred to the problems that these insecurities could create for international trade, stating: "Currently, we are witnessing severe fluctuations in global markets caused by instability in the Middle East."
The Necessity of International Cooperation
El-Sisi emphasized the necessity of international cooperation to address these challenges, saying: "Countries must collaborate to maintain security and stability in the Middle East. This cooperation can help strengthen the global economy and improve conditions for international trade."
Finally, the President of Egypt called for the establishment of an international conference to explore solutions for protecting international navigation and trade security in the Middle East. He believes this conference could serve as a platform for discussion and the creation of joint solutions.
